Advertising and Social Media Platforms
We advertise our work on platforms operated by Meta Platforms, Inc., including Facebook and Instagram. To measure whether that advertising is effective and to show ads to people likely to be interested in fine art photography, we use Meta's business tools. These tools work in two ways.
The Meta Pixel. A small piece of code on our Site that records actions you take here, such as viewing a page, viewing a print, adding an item to your cart, beginning checkout, or completing a purchase, and sends that information to Meta along with your IP address and browser information. The Pixel uses cookies and similar technologies.
The Conversions API. The same categories of activity are also sent to Meta directly from our e-commerce platform's servers rather than from your browser. Because this happens on the server side, it is not affected by browser cookie settings or ad blockers. Where consent is required, this server-side sharing is subject to the same consent choice you make on our Site.
Advanced matching. When you provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, or address, for example at checkout or when subscribing to our newsletter, that information may be converted into an irreversible coded form (a cryptographic hash) before it is sent to Meta. Meta uses those coded values to determine whether you have a Meta account so it can attribute an ad to a resulting visit or purchase. We do not send Meta your email address, phone number, or postal address in readable form for this purpose.
What Meta does with it. Meta uses this information to report on our ad performance, to build audiences of people who have interacted with our Site so we can show them further ads, and for its own purposes as described in Meta's own privacy policy. Meta acts as an independent controller of the data it receives. You can read Meta's Privacy Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy and manage the ads you see at facebook.com/adpreferences.
Your choices. You can decline non-essential cookies and tracking through the cookie preferences banner on our Site, opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information as described below, adjust your ad settings directly with Meta, or contact us at chad@ziemendorf.com to request that we stop sharing your information with advertising partners.
Information Sharing
We share your information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party companies that help us operate our business, including e-commerce platforms, email marketing providers, customer review systems, loyalty program providers, shipping carriers, and payment processors. These providers only have access to information necessary to perform their specific services.
- Advertising Partners: We share personal information (such as browsing behavior, purchase activity, device information, and coded contact identifiers) with third-party advertising partners, including Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure our advertising and to show you relevant ads on other websites and apps. This activity may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. You have the right to opt out of this activity.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Important Note About "Sales": We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense, meaning we do not exchange your data for money. However, under certain state privacy laws, sharing data with advertising partners for targeted advertising may be considered a "sale." You can opt out of this activity as described in the "Your Rights and Choices" section.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for several purposes. Strictly necessary cookies keep the Site working, remember what is in your cart, and secure checkout. Analytics cookies help us understand how the Site is used. Marketing cookies, including the Meta Pixel, support advertising and measurement.
Where required by law, we display a cookie preferences banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies before they are set. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect Site functionality. Please note that declining cookies in your browser does not by itself stop server-side sharing described in the "Advertising and Social Media Platforms" section; to limit that, use the cookie preferences banner, the opt-out options below, or contact us directly.
Your Rights and Choices
Access and Correction: You may access and update your account information at any time.
Marketing Communications: You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or contacting us directly.

Targeted Advertising and Opt-Out Rights:
We share personal information with third-party advertising partners, including Meta Platforms, Inc., to show you relevant ads on other websites and apps. - Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share

Where we rely on consent, such as for non-essential cookies and advertising technologies, you may withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie preferences banner or by contacting us. Where we rely on legitimate interests, such as securing the Site and preventing fraud, you may object as described above.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Advertising and analytics partners retain the information they receive according to their own retention schedules, which we do not control.
Children's Privacy
Our Site is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
